SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND
Prof. Giulia Grancini began as a spectroscopist, exploring the fundamental photophysical processes underlying the operation of advanced optoelectronic devices, with a special attention to new generation photovoltaics. During her early career, she contributed with pioneer works to the understanding of the interface physics in organic and hybrid perovskite solar cells. Later, she broadened her initial expertise on perovskite solar cells to include physico-chemical material characterization, solar cell device fabrication, and photovoltaic performance measurement. This multi-disciplinary background has since played a fundamental role in delivering high-level publications, scoring competitive scientific projects, and securing both national and international funding to support the experimental activities of her research group, PVsquared2.
