Ariana Garcia

PRESENTATION

Born in Zacatecas (Mexico) in 1993. She moved from Mexico to Italy on September 2020 to start the PhD program at the University of Pavia. Experienced in photovoltaic device fabrication and materials characterization techniques. Strong background in electrical device characterization of solar cells. Strong written and oral communication skills. Highly motivated on becoming an agent of change towards a sustainable future, promoting environmental education and the participation of women in science.

EDUCATION

Enrolled at the University of Pavia, Italy, as a PhD student at the Physical Chemistry Department. Currently working on the research project: “Engineering and characterization of mesoporous solar cells based on hybrid perovskite in n-i-p configuration”, under supervision of Prof. Giulia Grancini, since October 2020.

Master degree in Engineering Sciences, orientation in Renewable Energies and Environmental Sciences. Academic Unit of Electrical Engineering, Autonomous University of Zacatecas. Thesis: Natural dye solar cells sensitized with chlorophyll obtained from peppermint (mentha spicata). Approved with Honorable Mention, on August 2019.

Bachelor Science in Environmental Engineering, National Polytechnic Institute, México. Experienced on water, soil and air sampling and characterization. Design of processes and equipment for pollution control. Degree obtained on 2017.
